Few questions on ADU’s, what are they and few other questions on ADU’s
An ADU is a secondary dwelling unit with complete living facilities for one or more persons.
An ADU can be a detached separated from the primary residential structure, a unit attached to the primary residential structure or a repurposed existing space, like a garage converted into an independent living unit.
Also, you can now sell your ADU, Accessory-Dwelling-Units, you know that unit you had added or may have added in your backyard.
For more information on selling a ADU read my article on the California Real Estate Laws in 2024, https://steveolmos.com/california-real-estate-laws-in-2024/
Few Questions On ADU’s
There is also a grant program offer by CalHFA (California Housing Finance Agency) that offers up to $40,000 toward pre-development and non-reoccurring closing costs associated with the construction of the ADU.
Pre-development costs include site prep, architectural designs, permits, soil tests, impact fees, property survey, and energy reports.
