The news that the Federal Reserve is holding off on raising interest rates could have a positive impact on the real estate market by allowing buyers to adjust to the higher rates that are out there how

Giving the buyers time to work with lenders to find the best programs that are available to get the loan they need to buy a house.

In my opinion, if you don’t give buyers time to adjust and plan before raising the rate again, buyers will put  themselves on hold.

What is the interest rate impact to the real estate market?

Interest rates have a very strong influence on the real estate market. Low interest rates make it more attractive for potential buyers to purchase properties as it makes borrowing cheaper.

If you were to look at what the rates were in the early 80s today’s rates would look low.

On the other hand, if you compare today’s rates to the rates of the last few years, that were in the 2’s, today’s rates are high.

The Feds have stated that this is only a pause and that if they do not see what they want to see in the economy, then they will raise rates in the future.

I believe that if the Fed’s had raised the rate at this last meeting, that the prices of home would have been hit and that homeowners that are selling their homes, unless they really had to, would pull them off the market, actually reducing inventory even more and causing prices to actually go up.
